March Edition | Grand Cru Terroirs

Posted by Kyri & Isabella•

It's that time of the month, where we send you some cracking champagne. The two producers that we have chosen this month, perfectly highlight this month's theme of Grand Cru Terroirs.

Petit & Bajan actually comes from two important villages - Avize based along the Côte des Blancs & Verzenay which sits on the 'cooler' northern side of the hill in the Montagne de Reims. These  are Grand Cru's for chardonnay and pinot noir respectively. The wine we are looking at is their 'Ambrosie' which is a one of three champagne's they make. Production is strictly limited and this is destined for all of our Lovers.

Our next producer, making his debut into the club is Eric Rodez who used to be the winemaker at Krug many years ago and he is our other Grand Cru terroir grower, based in the village of Ambonnay which sits on the 'warmer' southern-side of the Montagne de Reims. This is a multi-vintage wine coming from some 15 or so individual plots and is on route to all of our Connoisseurs.
